Each SquaredUp instance should have only one SquaredUp licence key installed. This is usually either a trial licence, or after purchasing SquaredUp either the Primary or Secondary licence. You may have both a Primary and a trial licence installed, for example, if you are trialling new features while considering a licence upgrade.
To check which licence is being used by an instance of SquaredUp, open SquaredUp on a particular server by using the localhost address on the server itself or using the server name in the URL, for example
- In SquaredUp click on the right-hand menu ☰ and then on system.
- Click on the licensing perspective.
From this licensing perspective you can remove a licence, but if you accidentally remove the active licence you may not be able to access SquaredUp again without contacting SquaredUp Support.
The Primary licence should be used if you only have one SquaredUp production server, or on your first SquaredUp production server if you are configuring a multi-server environment.
The Secondary licence should only be used for any subsequent servers in a multi-server / high availability / load balanced environment.
The Dev or Test licences are for your test environment.
