SquaredUp matches the colour of lines across graphs when the labels match. This means that if the same check, site, resource or object is shown on two or more graphs on a dashboard then the same colour will be used for it, as long as the labels match exactly.
Colour matching is enabled by default across line graphs on a dashboard, and also be enabled for bar charts.
Editing labels to ensure colour matching
The same colour is used for each matching set of data across Line Graphs and Bar Graphs on a dashboard, when the resource labels match.
To ensure colour matching works correctly, make sure that the labels for the data on different graphs match. By default they usually don't match, and you'll need to set a custom label in the label section for some of the graphs.
For example, for a bar chart you can choose a property to use for label or manipulate it using Mustache syntax
For a single line graph you can input the label manually to match the label from another graph:
For resources that show the same label the colours will now match:
How to disable colour matching for a dashboard
Colour matching is enabled by default, and can be disabled for individual dashboards from edit this dashboard > settings:
- On a dashboard click the edit this dashboard button
- Click the settings button:
- Toggle the match by label button from OFF to ON.
How to enable colour matching for bar graphs
For Bar Graphs multiple colours is switched off by default, and can be switched on in the color section. Bar Graphs will then colour match, as long as the dashboard setting match by label is on and the labels do match.
