4.4.3

Issues Addressed

  • When Performance tiles are scoped to a list or group, users may see performance data and object names for objects for which they do not have permissions in SCOM. We strongly recommend an upgrade to v4.4.3 as soon as possible if you are running v4.4 in a multi-tenanted environment, or make significant use of Role Based Access Control (RBAC). Dashboard Server v4.3 and below are not affected, and neither is Azure Edition (SU-8099).

  • VADA support for SQL 2017 & 2019 - component level discovery is now supported for SQL 2005 through to 2019 (Visual Application Discovery & Analysis (VADA))
  • Improved support in VADA for non-ASP.NET IIS websites and web apps - This means SQL instances show default perspectives when you drill down to them, but also data and graphs on VADA maps and in the Matrix tile.
  • New dashboard pack for version agnostic SQL management packs
  • Scalability improvement to allow for saving even larger EAs (SU-7531)
  • Search result cache improvements (SU-7203 and SU-7216)

  • v3 to v4 upgrade fails if a profile starts with 'SCOM' (SU-6271)
  • Upgrade report: Warning generated for built-in dashboard packs (SU-5846)
  • Installer allows space in application name (URL), but results in "Unrecognized URL format" (SU-6097)
  • Installer fails when the application pool name contains a space (SU-6094)
  • High availability error message contains incorrect haupgrade command syntax (SU-6583)
  • Some users logging in to Dashboard Server are taken to "/system" (SU-6368)

Performance tile

  • Performance Bars occasionally show 100% when dashboard is refreshed (SU-7649)

  • When the top n is applied to the Performance Report tile using a time comparison the lines shown for the time comparison may be for different objects to those shown for the current time period (SU-7338)

VADA

  • VADA can only discover traffic for IIS ASP.Net endpoints which have been discovered in SCOM (SU-6144)
  • Adding an IIS Hosted WCF Web Service to EA dependencies causes EA to save blank (SU-7475)
  • VADA's visual indicator of background activity is no longer present (SU-7714)

Improvements

  • New Performance Report tile - a new type of Performance tile that enables you to make comparisons. You can either compare different metrics on the same chart, for example to identify correlations, or you can compare a metric with the same metric for a previous period, for example to identify trends or spot divergences from the norm (How to use the Performance tile).
  • Extended discovery of Enterprise Applications (EAs) in VADA. When building an EA map with Visual Application Discovery and Analysis (VADA) you can now discover Oracle servers (Linux and Windows), and can discover components through two additional load balancer types - NetScaler and Kemp load balancers.(Visual Application Discovery & Analysis (VADA))
  • Improved navigation bar loading speed (SU-7109)
  • Status tile results can be sorted by the user defined label (RDMP-495)
  • Performance tiles use the new 'auto' resolution setting which automatically changes the resolution to a more suitable resolution when the page timeframe is changed by a user, to optimise graph load time (How to use the Performance tile). (SU-6116)
  • Sparklines and line graphs can show the 'top n' results (How to use the Performance tile).

General

  • Scalar tile is missing the configuration to add SCOM objects to the query (SU-7222)
  • Web API tile does not handle the token URL correctly when it contains an @ symbol (SU-7120)
  • Expired licenses are not displayed on the system > licensing page (SU-6732)
  • The message 'Startup failed for Filesystem' does not show the correct permissions command (SU-6438)
  • Performance Bar top n graph custom data range is shown incorrectly (SU-6323)
  • On a Performance Bar graph clearing the top n limit leaves the limit as the default (10) rather than unlimited (SU-5889)

VADA

  • On Internet Explorer a search within a filter group on a VADA map is not performed when pressing enter (SU-6528)
  • VADA discovery never completes if no instances of ManagementPackClass 'IIS Server Role' are returned (SU-6803)
  • EA Availability does not update properly in SCOM if the watcher group is changed (SU-6084)
  • If the Management Pack containing the EAM_ Availability Test Group is deleted the associated EA can no longer be edited (SU-6397)
  • Show a message when resolution of a node to a SCOM object fails/times out (SU-6581)
